PROJECT PLAN AND DESIGN PERSPECTIVE

In 2017 Marcus Oldham College announced its plans to build an innovative and comprehensive technology-based Learning Centre capable of advancing agricultural studies into the 21st century. Eighteen months later and the project is now complete!

MultiTek Solutions collaborated with Marcus Oldham and Rendine Constructions to design, engineer and install Audio Visual Systems for this remarkable new education space.

PROCESS WE USED

Marcus Oldham's Learning Centre is now home to a range of new learning spaces fitted out with superior technical capabilities. MultiTek Solutions engineered AV systems for the multi-purpose spaces, meeting rooms and Interactive technology hub. Teachers, students, graduates and industry leaders from the agriculture industry will now be able to connect through Marcus Oldham's advanced learning spaces. Complimentary Audio Visual technology has been carefully designed and delivered by MultiTek and aims to assist the college in taking agricultural education beyond the four walls of the college. It also boosts their educational programs to a new level, customising learning experiences for individual students.

The central hub to the Learning Centre is the impressive Multi-Purpose learning space that's divisible into three lecture configurations. The Main central room being a tiered-seated, sizeable lecture theatre with large, flat, floor spaces on either side. Operable walls separate these spaces which can open as required to combine the rooms into any layout for significant events and more extensive special guest presentations.

In addition to these main spaces, a small meeting room, large boardroom and an Interactive technology hub have been included in the design to allow for group work and collaboration, allowing the industry, unprecedented sharing of information and knowledge across our vast country.

OUTCOME AND SOLUTION

Some of the unique features students will encounter at the Learning Centre include the latest in display technology from LG and Epson. In addition, MTS installed the most flexible and reliable video distribution on the market with Crestron NVX - all presented to the end-user with a simple and effective Crestron control system, and user interface.

All spaces are capable of streaming and recording live video as well as integrating with their UC platform ‘Zoom’. Content Input is from a range of local devices within each space as well as 'wireless' presentation using ‘Solstice’ and of course the ability to present any source to any display in the entire complex utilising the power and flexibility of Crestron NVX Video over IP Technology.

MultiTek Solutions worked meticulously to achieve flexible connectivity and sophisticated functionality throughout the new building. The Marcus Oldham project required MTS to design and deliver modern teaching technology that engages and ultimately aids students in becoming future-ready for the digital workplace.

Today's agricultural studies have a much greater emphasis on technology and collaboration within the industry. The AV systems designed by MTS provides flexibility and control in line with modern-day business realities for this field.

It is illuminating how technology is changing the face of education in agriculture. MultiTek Solutions is proud to have been part of this project and supports growth and knowledge in this field.
