The Hon. Gavin Jennings MLC, Special Minister of State, recently opened the Bethany Men's Family Violence Intervention Centre in South Geelong.
This innovative new facility offers a broad range of services that seek to address specific issues including: domestic violence, homelessness and drug, and alcohol problems.
MultiTek Solutions consulted closely with 'Bethany Community Support' to seamlessly integrate Audio Visual Infrastructure into its new Boardroom and Training room. MTS supplied and installed new mounted projector screens and pendant-mount ceiling speakers.
This fantastic new facility will aim to make Geelong's families and the broader Geelong community a safer place by providing support to those affected by family violence, with the intention of making perpetrators more visible and accountable for their behaviour. A 'wraparound' service providing mental health counselling, treatment and assessment along with Primary Health Care will be integral to the centre's innovative health model. The centre will also offer financial counselling services and run fathering and men's behaviour change programs.
The AV system installed by MultiTek Solutions gives the training room an overall sense of balance and provides a clean, sleek look and is extremely easy to use. The speakers are ideal for the space as they provide even coverage from the front to the rear of the venue and are designed to blend in with every day hanging light fixtures.
Training room:
One key feature of the system is the ability to annotate on the ‘MeetingMate’ display and send that image to the large 130” screen so all training participants can see.
Boardroom:
Both Crestron and Epson controls hang in central locations in the facility, providing end-users with immediate and convenient access. The new Boardroom room was also fitted out with Crestron Mercury Controls and a Kramer Retractable Table Box, making it easy for Audio Visual infrastructure such as data, cable, video and power connections to be mounted through under table mounting surfaces.
The centre's well-equipped training facilities will enable up to 75 people 'those working with perpetrators of family violence' at a time to participate in professional development sessions that will further enhance skills for workers in this specific health-care sector. This initiative and the unique facilities attached to it are the first of its kind in Victoria.
MultiTek Solutions was proud to be involved in providing Audio Visual Solutions for what will no doubt be an invaluable resource for the Geelong community and in particular, the many people who struggle with the far-reaching and often debilitating effects of family violence.
The centre will become a beacon of innovation, collaboration, and hope in working towards eradicating the destructive and horrific cycle of family violence.
