Kardinia International College's ‘Goodfellow Aquatic Centre’ has opened for business! Located along the Ballarat Road, the centre shall provide both junior and senior students with swimming programs and water specific study units. The centre has also established a partnership with H20 Swimming enabling water skill programs to be available to others beyond school hours.
MultiTek Solutions' expertise was sought to develop a highly durable AV system able to withstand a high corrosive, high humidity and slightly echoey internal pool environment. The Aquatic Centre facilities include one, six-lane 25metre indoor pool, a ten-metre warm-water learn pool and an adjacent cafe; suitable acoustics were paramount from an early stage of the build.
MultiTek Solutions designed, supplied, installed and commissioned a Distributed Audio System in a single zone to the Goodfellow Aquatic Centre. The system was developed using high quality, directional in-ceiling speakers (mounted in acoustic panelling) and able to successfully compete with the conditions present inside an aquatic complex. The AV installation included moisture repellent handheld and wireless headset microphones capable of operation anywhere in the main pool areas.
According to school management, the 20 years wait for an Aquatic Centre at Kardinia International College has certainly been well worth it! Although only recently operational, the impressive facility is already receiving glowing reports from parents, students, and Geelong's wider community.
